Killer Whales

Whales are not fish they live in the ocean.The whales are the largest they are mammals in the water.

A male whale is call a ball but the female is call a cow the baby whale is call a calf and a group of whales is call pods.

The whale has enormous mouths.When it is  cold  the whale has thick blubber to keep them warm in the cold and they have jaw bone.

The whale has no teeth some of them have teeth

Ernest Shackleton

There was a man name Ernest Shackleton he explored Antarctica.

He was  forced to turn back because they had no food to eat.

He had 3 men with him that he took with him on the trip.

Penguins live in the southern ocean.Penguins are birds,  they don’t live in the north they live around the world in south.

Penguins can’t fly. They take waddling steps when they come ashore.

In antarctica the temperature is freezing cold because of the icy gales of wind. In winter it’s dark the sun does not rise.

The male penguins stay the whole winter in pack ice some penguins don’t survive in the winter .

In Antarctica the penguins have thick hair under it is

blubber it’s cold in Antarctica the penguins.

Penguins have fluffy skin. They have waterproof fluffy

The seals can swim fast. They are like a bullet going around antarctica. They are fat                          

Crabeater seals they eat krill. There are 30 million of them and they are the most common.

Leopard seals hunt penguins but they can't move on land. The penguins are not afraid  when they are on land. They are better underwater. Weddell seals spend most of their time in the cold but they are warm in the cold.
